Cisco Systems and Polaris Networks have signed an agreement to enable Polaris Networks to provide engineering support services to Cisco Client Extensions (CCX) program partners. Polaris Networks will offer testing and debugging services to aid CCX partners in their use of the CCX v4 and v5 test scripts supplied by Cisco to certify their client devices for compliance with CCX v4 and v5 requirements. CCX partners can make full use of Polaris Networks's past experience with the CCX technology and certification program and its expertise with the Azimuth Systems test platform and test scripts to ensure that their certification testing is executed efficiently and smoothly. Polaris Networks will provide on-site as well as telephone and email support to CCX partners.
The engineering support services offered by Polaris Networks include the following:
- Installation of the CCX v4 and v5 Test Bed. This includes configuration of the Azimuth Systems test platform and Cisco devices such as the 4400 Controller, Access Points, ACS, Catalyst switch, and Router.
- Analysis of CCX test results to locate the cause of test errors or test failures. This includes an examination of the source code for the test scripts to provide an in-depth analysis.
- Execution of the CCX tests in Polaris Networks's lab.
- Customization and enhancement of the CCX tests scripts, under the terms of the CCX Licensee agreement. Polaris Networks has a fully-equipped lab for CCX testing, including the Azimuth Systems W-Series test platform, the required Cisco devices and tools such as IxChariot. Engineers from Polaris Networks have been involved in the development and support of CCX test scripts on the Azimuth Systems test platform for over three years.
