Polaris Networks to Provide Software Tools to ONF for OMEC Testing

San Jose, California, February 25, 2019 –

Polaris Networks, a leading provider of wireless test and measurement products, will provide LTE test tools for the recently announced Open Mobile Evolved Core (OMEC) project. OMEC is a full-featured, scalable, high performance, open-source EPC sponsored by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF). Polaris Networks is all set to offer their EPC Functional Tester and EPC Load Tester to help evaluate the functional conformance and key performance indicators of the OMEC EPC elements in accordance with 3GPP LTE standards.

Polaris Networks will partner with ONF to test the current version of OMEC and will continue to support testing requirements for future enhancements to the EPC by member organizations. Polaris will provide their suite of Functional Testers to create field conditions in the lab by emulating the rest of the LTE network and conduct tests covering all signaling procedures. Polaris will also evaluate the performance and load-bearing capacity of OMEC components.

The Open Networking Foundation (ONF) is a non-profit operator led consortium driving transformation of network infrastructure and carrier business models. ONF is an open, collaborative, community of communities that serves as the umbrella for a number of projects including the recently introduced OMEC. Polaris Networks is an official collaborator member of ONF and has previously worked on other projects such as M-CORD. "We are proud to continue our support of ONF and specifically the new, opensource OMEC project. We look forward to committing our test software and technical expertise to make OMEC a great success", said Ameet Dhillon, Director (Business Development) at Polaris Networks.
