Polaris Networks to Demonstrate Roaming and Failure Scenarios using LTE Emulators at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona 2011.

Polaris' LTE Test Solutions enable manufacturers and operators, validate LTE network access and core for functional conformance and test performance.

Lexington, Massachusetts, February 14, 2011 - Polaris Networks, a leader in software test solutions for Telecommunications and Wireless Networking today announced that they will be demonstrating their range of Test Tools for the LTE Access and Core Network Equipment. The emphasis will be on demonstrating Roaming and Failure scenarios.

The GSMA Mobile World Congress provides an effective platform to learn about and demonstrate products, solutions and services which shall lead us into the Mobile Future.

Polaris has developed a series of emulators for LTE infrastructure elements viz., eNodeB, MME, HSS, S-GW, PDN-GW. This simulation helps in observing network behavior in lab conditions useful for operators in research and pre-deployment situations. Vendors of EPC can test their manufactured nodes for load, stress and scalability by connecting to these emulators. One of the main features of the latest version of the Emulators released by Polaris is that the emulators can be used to simulate abnormal/ failure scenarios – a feature which is extremely useful to perform negative testing. Thus, it would enable the users to verify that the LTE node deals appropriately with a situation for which it is not programmed.

Another feature new to Polaris' emulators is “roaming” - This time at the MWC , Polaris would demonstrate Emulators wherein you can configure more than one PLMN (Public Land Mobile Network) and watch how User Equipment can move from one Service Provider's Network to another.

About Polaris Networks

Polaris Networks, a leading Test and Measurement company, provides comprehensive test solutions for LTE equipment manufacturers and operators. The Functional Testers and Emulator tools are used by NEMs and SPs for testing eNodeB, MME, S-GW, PDN-GW and other LTE nodes for protocol/feature conformance, scalability, load/stress. The emulators can simulate end-to-end LTE network and are used by companies developing security and other applications for 4G mobile networks. Headquartered in Boston, company's RandD facility is located in India. Apart from test tools for wireless and telecom technologies like LTE, Wi-Fi, DSRC, RFID, xTCA, the company also offers software development and testing services.
