POLARIS NETWORKS RFID LLRP 1.0 PROTOCOL CONFORMANCE TESTER HELPS RFID VENDORS TO COMPLY WITH EPCGLOBAL SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS STANDARDS
May 15, 2007
Polaris Networks, a leading provider of Wireless Protocol Software Certification
and Conformance test systems and an active member of the EPCglobal (a part of GS1), today announced
that its RFID LLRP 1.0 Protocol Conformance Testers are now commercially available to the RFID solution
providers.
The LLRP Tester has been developed using the Packet Tester as the base platform.Packet
Tester has been used by Polaris Networks for several years now for developing various wireless protocol
(WiMax, WiFi, and ZigBee) software test systems. Apart from the RFID LLRP Tester, RFID Middleware (ALE 1.0)
and RFID Reader Protocol (RP1.1) Conformance Testers also use the same Packet Tester platform.
The RFID LLRP 1.0 Conformance Tester implements the test suites as described in the
Reader Operations (RO) workgroup's Conformance Requirements document. The test suites are categorized
as Mandatory Tests, Additional Tests, Optional Tests, Miscellaneous Tests and Negative Tests. Only
Mandatory test suites have to be passed for EPCglobal certification. However, the rest of the tests
will help the QA groups for their QA and regression testing.
"As more and more companies are coming out with their RFID products, it is essential for
them to be compliant with the EPCglobal standards for both interoperability and industry acceptance. This
compliance will help them differentiate their product by giving them a competitive edge." said Vinay Gupta,
CTO of Polaris Networks.
The RFID LLRP 1.0 Conformance Tester comes with suites of pre built tests. EPCglobal
will use same test scenarios for EPCglobal certification.
The platform's versatile architecture allows vendors to develop their own customized test
scripts for their own proprietary protocols.
