Polaris has extensive experience in all aspects of testing new products and technology, particularly in the networking and telecommunication fields. The Testing Services offered by Polaris range from testing during the R&D phase to System Quality Assurance (SQA) prior to actual field deployment.
A typical project in testing would involve development of a detailed step-by-step Test Plan based on the test objectives, identifying appropriate test tools, developing scripts (using standard scripting languages such as Tcl) for automated testing, and preparing test results and reports.
The testing procedure is customized based on the test objectives, such as Interoperability and Conformance Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, Load or Stress Testing. Polaris engineers have been involved in developing complete conformance suites for testing protocols covering VoIP (SIP, H.323), MPLS (including RSVP, LDP, BGP VPNs, etc), Routing (RIP, BGP, OSPF), and Multicast networks (PIM, MSDP).
Stress or Load Testing involves measurement of performance metrics under different deployment conditions. One needs to simulate real life conditions in the laboratory for the performance numbers to be meaningful. Our experience in stress testing of devices covers Access Concentrators for VLANs, Routers, Switches, etc.
Polaris engineers are very familiar with industry standard test tools made by companies such as Agilent Technologies, Spirent, Radcom and have extensive experience in developing test scripts using languages such as Tcl.
